A Cuban friend of mine back in Jacksonville who came from Cuba as a young 20 year old said that the Obama's rise reminds her of Castro's rise in Cuba. Castro was pumped as the messiah and an agent of change. He pushed populist socialism. His economic plans sound similar to those of Obama's advisors (Obama knows nothing about economics personally). She's petrified that her great-great-grandchildren will be stuck with today’s economy 50 years from now as Cuba’s economy is stuck in the 1960s now.
With age certainly comes wisdom. She’s spot on with the parallels of the two “agents of change” and is probably right about the economy post-Obama’s election (assuming that the Dems obtain the supermajority numbers in Congress).
